The Loft Galeria

Continues the  2009 - 2010 Artwalk Season in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico with our 3rd annual December exhibition of abstracts: Driven to Abstraction III.

It has now become a tradition for The Loft Galeria to present a selection of fine abstract works each December. At first glance it may seem to run counter to the holiday season, but some of our favorite artists are those who work in the abstract and whose works reference the myriad ways in which we view the wonder of our known and unknown universe. At the Loft we believe we are fortunate to be able present these creations, by artists who are widely represented in distinguished public and private collections throughout he world.

Please join us for this show of both new and selected paintings and drawings and prints by many of our collector favorites including: Wosene Kosrof, Michael Costantini, Davis Birks, Eugenio Partida, Sondra Rirchardson, Wifredo Lam, Gunther Gerzo, Francisco Toledo, Carlos Torres, Claudia Delgado Porter, Billy King and Cisco JimeƱez.

At The Loft Galeria, in a setting evoking the great urban Art Spaces and located in the historic art zone of Puerto Vallarta, respect and passion for art is reflected in the manner of its presentation.

Dear william,

This time, the tears Obama has inspired are not tears of joy.

He is brilliant and eloquent. But last night he spoke of 30,000 troops and $30 billion for escalating a war.

A war that will do nothing to protect our security.

A war that will result in the deaths of thousands of Americans and Afghans.

A war that will eat up resources that should be going to jobs, homes, schools, health care.

A war that will hurt rather than help the people of Afghanistan.

Join us in the work ahead to work to stop the funding for this war.

We CANNOT remain on the sidelines anymore. This war MUST end.

Join us in the work ahead to work to stop the funding.

Sign the petition to tell Congress we cannot afford a war that does not make us safer.

Yours,
Robert Greenwald

EeePC and Skype

It happened..I've joined the cell phone mob..well sort of..daughter xtina gifted me one of those new sub-notebooks that is ideal for wifi web cruising and i gotta say IT WORKS GREAT!! So no longer will i be trapped in an airport or on a flight without some diversion! pretty lightweight too and the battery is up to 10 hours..wow. The really good news is that I'm able to call out on Skype and Yahoo messenger for a fraction of a cell phone or land call call....i have to find a wifi site, yes that's true, but once there i can call anywhere for pennies...and if the person I'm calling belongs to that service its FREE!!! Video too...so whoop de fuxcking doo.....bring on the 21st century, I'm finally in the door!

Electric Bill

Hola....are you still playing in Spain, lucky boy ?
I picked up your CFE bill, and was shocked to see it was $306 pesos.  The previous billing was only $107 pesos.
So naturally, I went to CFE to register a complaint.  I told her the building was vacant, and that there were no lights, refrigerator, water pumps, or anything else functioning.  Then I asked how the bill could be so high for an empty space, with no power use ?
She, as all Mexicans do, questioned why it would occur to me to question the authority of the CFE ?  But I pressed on.....
I demonstrated that the previous billing period was much cheaper, and that the small charge was due to your occupancy during the first few days of that billing cylce.  "How", I queried, "with the property vacant during the past two months, can Mr King possibly owe $306 pesos ?"
After much huffing and puffing and an exasperated roll of the eyes, she told me that the tariff on power used in summer is higher than in the winter.
When I explained that a higher tariff (times ZERO usage) was still ZERO, she nearly lost it !
I gave up, and paid your bill.  I don't think I have sufficient language skills to fight her arrogant indolence.  So you're on your own....
You can, however, take much comfort in the knowledge that my bill was $2100 pesos.  And when I asked for an explanation, she told me that I must have used my ceiling fan more during those hot summer months....
  Biatch !
